Thoughts and meditations

On yesterday

The sweet aroma of forgotten things
tuck themselves like dreams
in the corners of eyes not fully awake
Pastels fade in the morning sun
I shift my weight
Afternoons are best for humming songs
we barely know
And for finding our way back to meadows
where butterflies dance
I catch a glimpse

Solomons Wings

Congratulations to the man that dances across winter skies in absolute blue
to the man that passes by clouds inquiring about that warm hue
to the man that treads lightly on muddied paths
to not ruin his whites, crisp and new
Congratulations to the man who skips through fields of green
amidst rattles and racers
to the man not deterred by fate
no matter the soothsayer
Because a man ought to be able to life live a life
Even one that is what he says it is

Can you feel

Can you feel it
The way my heart retreats

Are you close enough
to hear me breathe

Can you feel my heart buckle
Beneath the weight of peace

Can you feel it
In the middle of the night
When I clench my fists tight
To numb the urge
To look at the fragments and wonder if it could be done again
